• About the Softwarized & Wireless Networks Research Group

  • Softwarized & Wireless Networks (SWN) research group was established in 2016 as a part of the Computer & Network Systems Technologies (CNST) laboratory of the Department of Applied Informatics, University of Macedonia, Greece.

The aim of the research group is to conduct research in the areas of Flexible and Programmable Networking, such as Software-Defined Networks, Network Function Virtualization and Cloud Networking technologies. In particular, we investigate the integration aspects of such novel technologies with mobile networks, including cellular 5G, mobile opportunistic and wireless sensor networks. Along these lines, we work on Mobile Edge, Fog and Mobile Cloud Computing, Opportunistic networking and the relevant Network Architectures, Protocols and Network Management technologies.
